Use of Copil funds: Jean-Marie Ogandaga at CNLCEI

The Minister of the Economy went to the Commission to combat illicit enrichment (CNLCEI) on June 4 in Libreville. Jean-Marie Ogandaga went to reassure this institution on the judicious use of the funds allocated to the Steering Committee of the monitoring plan for the response against the Coronavirus (Copil Coronavirus).

Are the funds allocated to the Steering Committee of the monitoring plan for the response to the Coronavirus (Copil Coronavirus) used wisely? It is to answer this question that the Minister of the Economy, in his capacity as administrator of the funds of the Copil, went to the National Commission to fight against illicit enrichment (CNLCEI), on June 4 in Libreville.

“We have presented to the Commissioners what we are doing. Because we must avoid grey areas in such a situation, “said the Minister of Economy. “The head of state trusts us and has clearly warned us that he is in a logic of zero tolerance in matters of embezzlement,”  Jean-Marie Ogandaga recalled.

To carry out its missions, the Copil was given a substantial envelope. Certain indiscretions evoke several billion CFA francs. Hence the interest of the CNLCEI, which wants to prevent any misappropriation of funds by the members of the Copil. In addition, they will fill out asset declaration forms.

“It was important that I come here for the withdrawal of the declaration of property forms, so that each member appointed to the Copil fills in their own and deposits it with the CNCEIL. And the end of the Covid-19 crisis, we will make an assessment, so that the discharge of good management is given to all members of the Copil, “said the Minister of Economy.
