The “National Student-Entrepreneur Status” program, a model for Chad

Morocco has set up a program called the National Student-Entrepreneur Status, supported by the European Union, which allows students to benefit from support conducive to the creation of a business.

Since December 2018, Morocco has introduced a statute allowing students to be better equipped for setting up a business during their academic studies, reports the Agence Ecofin website. Known as the National Student-Entrepreneur Statute (SNEE), it is supported by the European Union and coordinated by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie through the Saleem program (Structuring and support for student entrepreneurship in the Maghreb).

The system comprises 3 main stages: the idea, the prototyping phase and the creation of the company. During these, students benefit from technical, psychological and educational support provided by experts and Saleem partners. A certificate of the National Student-Entrepreneur Status is given to students after their training.

In Africa, the SNEE has already been implemented by universities, institutes and higher schools in Morocco and Tunisia. Its purpose is to support students with entrepreneurial ideas that they wish to realize. It thus gives them a head start in their entrepreneurial careers, facilitating their entry into the job market and their independence.

In Chad, the establishment of the National Student-Entrepreneur Status would support young people in order to prepare a generation of entrepreneurs.
