Carried out under the leadership of the President of the Transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, this project benefited from the support of the Task Force of the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Energy and that of Economy and Participations.
With a capacity of 30 megawatts, this plant is equipped with a solar tracking device (or solar tracker) and a battery electrical energy storage system, is a major step forward for Gabon’s energy transition, we learned. It could power up to 300,000 homes. The official reception of the works of this first phase is scheduled for September 28, 2024.
According to the company, this initiative marks a major turning point in the country’s energy strategy, aimed at diversifying its energy sources and strengthening its commitment to sustainable development. The Ayémé solar photovoltaic plant is only the first step in an ambitious plan to reach 120 MW in the long term, aimed at limiting dependence on fossil fuels.
