Faced with the spread of Covid-19 which is blocking economic activities and threatening the bankruptcy of companies, Gabon’s Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) has published, the calendar relating to the tax deferral. An initiative announced early April by President Ali Bongo Ondimba to help companies overcome the crisis triggered by the pandemic.
In order to allow companies to overcome the crisis linked to the Coronavirus pandemic, several government measures have been announced. Some aim to review the methods of paying taxes in order to give companies time to better deal with this shock. It is in this sense that the Directorate General of Taxes has communicated the new dates relating to the operations to be carried by companies.
The press release signed by the Director General of Taxes, François Auguste Akomezogho, specifies that the filing of statistical and fiscal declarations (DSF), annual declarations of wages (DAS) has been postponed to July 31, 2020. The same applies to transfer pricing declarations (TPD), declarations of overall results subject to Personal Income Tax (IRPP), in the category of industrial and commercial profits. (BIC), non-commercial profits (BNC) and agricultural profits (BA). The Directorate General of Taxes in Gabon also ensures that the payment of the balance of corporate tax (IS) and IRPP in the categories of BIC, BNC and BA, in principle, fixed at April 30, 2020, in three monthly installments of equal amount, is also postponed and smoothed to the dates of April 30, May 31 and June 30, 2020. These measures are intended to support businesses hit by the Covid-19 crisis.
