The Trade Union of Chadian Doctors (SYMET) has expressed dissatisfaction with its exclusion from the response committee against the coronavirus. The organ denounces “selfish approach of the Ministry of Public Health in the country’s Covid-19 response”.
The SYMET, “partner of the Ministry of Public Health, denounces this attitude which does not favor good collaboration while the latter approached the Minister upon his appointment for frank collaboration for the benefit of the country.”
“The response against the coronavirus involves the whole nation and all citizens. Any attitude of contempt, exclusion or forgetfulness towards the union or the Order of Doctors of Chad does not honor the ministry,” the President of the Doctors Union, Dr. Baroua Haroun Seid explains.
The trade union reiterates that it “reserves the right to demand means for the flawless protection of the nursing staff but also a transparent and profitable management to the nation of all the materials put by the State and the partners to fight against the Covid-19. ” It also urges health care workers “to get to work by demanding scientifically proven personal protective equipment (PPE) to bring the Covid-19 pandemic out of our country.”
