Congo strengthens commitment to develop Digital Economy

During a video conference organized on August 6 by the Smart Africa alliance, the Congolese Minister in charge of Posts and Telecommunications, Léon Juste Ibombo, signaled that his country is campaigning for the emergence of the digital economy in Africa.

To put into practice the national strategy for the development of the digital economy called “Digital Congo Vision 2025”, Léon Juste Ibombo believes that we must focus on e-govt, e-business and e-citizen.

“This strategy is reinforced by the decrees setting the terms of management of the fund for access and universal service of electronic communications and aims to offer the public throughout the national territory the service of electronic communications at an affordable cost”, he indicated.

According to Léon Juste Ibombo, the Congo, which has a strong political vision, offers an environment of digital trust conducive to sustainable growth and development.

This videoconference, which was held on the theme “The digital catalyst for growth and development in Africa”, consisted of proposing initiatives to ensure the digital transformation of African states.

Several digital experts participated in this exchange including Minette Libom Li Likeng, Cameroonian Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Laciné Koné, President of Smart Africa, Loïse Tamalgo, Vice-President in charge of Public Relations for Sub-Saharan Africa of Huawei and many others.
