The think tank “Economic Convergence” received this afternoon of August 5, the Minister of Livestock and Animal Production, Ahmat Mahamat Bachir. The opportunities and the question of the development of the pastoral sector at the center of exchanges.For a month now, the Economic Convergence platform, made up of businessmen and consular elected officials from the Chamber of Commerce, has invited a member of the government for discussions on an issue related to the economy.
Aware of the importance of the livestock sector and the opportunities it offers, the businessmen wanted to interact directly with the head of the department.
Minister Ahmat Mahamat Bachir, after taking stock of the livestock sector in Chad, told entrepreneurs that the opportunities are immense and there are many projects. The government has started construction of several modern slaughterhouses capable of processing livestock products and by-products. For the Minister of Livestock, his slaughterhouses alone can enable businessmen to develop several activities.
“Chad’s meat is healthy, organic and therefore currently in great demand in the sub-region and even beyond because it meets international standards” informs the Minister.
Ahmat Mahamat Bachir conveyed to entrepreneurs that the livestock sector is open and promising for those who want to invest in it. “I am even ready to give you the possibility of building a slaughterhouse in your name and you will manage it yourself”, launches the minister.
Finally, the minister reminded consular officials that a Chamber of Commerce is an essential tool in the development of a country’s economy and urged its officials to embody the hope of the Chadian economy.
