CEMAC spearheads project to electrify Gabon from Equatorial Guinea

The Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa CEMAC has launched a call for tenders to carry out feasibility studies for the project to supply the provinces of Woleu-Ntem and Ogooué-Ivindo with high voltage electricity from Equatorial Guinea.

The Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (Cemac) has just launched a call for tenders to carry out feasibility studies to supply the provinces of Woleu-Ntem and Ogooué-Ivindo with high-power tension from Equatorial Guinea, Financial Afrik revealed on June 18.

The call for tenders aims to carry out technical, economic, financial, environmental and social feasibility studies in order to assess the commercial aspect of the project. It also aims to identify low-cost solutions for the supply of energy, determine the usual indicators and parameters favoring a later decision on the financing and implementation of the project.

To tender, “the Cemac Commission invites interested candidates to express their interest by providing information indicating their ability to technically meet the requirements inherent in the completion of the study, including presentation documents that detail the execution of the work analogous ”, until June 25.

The project is part of the objectives pursued by the countries of Central Africa to make their sub-region, “an emerging integrated space, where security, solidarity and good governance prevail for human development”, the CEMAC Commission explained.

In addition to this project, CEMAC claims to have planned the completion of several other interstate electrical interconnection projects which will be financed with the assistance of development partners, such as the World Bank and the African Development Bank
