TOTAL E&P to strengthen production in Congo

Despite the health crisis which slowed down its activities last year, Total E&P Congo is keen to consolidate its oil production in Congo in 2021. Its managing director, Martin Defontaines, confirmed this on January 18 in Brazzaville to the 1st vice-president of the National Assembly, Léon Alfred Opimba.

“I have come to offer the President of the National Assembly my best wishes, as I do every year. I told him about Total E&P Congo’s commitment to maintaining production so that our activity continues. I also thanked him for the support the Republic has shown to businesses, especially ours so that we can carry out our activity, ”said Martin Defontaines.

The head of Total E&P Congo also stressed that despite the health crisis that weakened its operations last year, the oil company is doing well. It is keen to work as much as possible to consolidate its productivity and maintain the partnership signed with the Congolese government.

“The health crisis has had a negative impact on our society. Our operators and employees were able to adopt a different pace of work within our facilities, both on land and at sea. We had maintained our presence on the Djeno site as well as on other offshore sites, which enabled us to produce 75,000 barrels in 2020. This is a very good result, ” Martin Defontaine added.

For its future vision, insisted Martin Defontaines, the oil company plans to develop several projects, including, among others, the exploration of new oil wells. Remember that Total E&P Congo is a French company. It is the leading oil operator in the Republic of Congo.
