The Ministry of Economy and Finance via the General Directorate of Statistics and Economic Studies (DGSEE), in collaboration with the World Bank, is organizing from May to December 2020, a national survey on the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the economic and social situation of households and businesses.

This survey aims to provide a response to the need for precise statistical indicators that reflect the reality on the ground, in order to monitor the situation of households and businesses during the Covid-19 health crisis. “It will allow the government to better define an economic and social response to the Covid-19,” said the message broadcast on the national television channel, to better raise awareness of the benefits of this operation planned for eight months.

For households, it aims to measure their knowledge of the modes of contamination of covid-19, their behavior in the face of the pandemic, the impact on the employment of household members, loss of income, access to food products . And for businesses, it aims to measure the economic impact on production, sales, supply chain, access to credit and prospects.

This survey will be carried out without physical contact and by telephone as an alternative means of communication, in accordance with the application and compliance with the barrier gestures and social distancing prescribed to combat the spread of the virus, with a representative sample at the level national.

In order to conduct this survey in the best conditions, the government encourages households to be reactive with its managers and to spare no effort to facilitate their mission, which is in the service of the general interest.
