Chad benefits from 15 billion FCFA World Bank support for post-COVID 19 revival

The World Bank has approved three projects for Burkina Faso and Chad to help them cope with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the humanitarian crisis. The three projects approved by the World Bank in favor of the two Sahel countries, namely Burkina Faso and Chad, concern economic recovery and the improvement of access and the quality of basic social services.

To improve the access of rural populations to markets and basic social services, the mobility and rural connectivity project in Chad benefits from an additional fund of $ 15 million. This project also aims to provide an immediate and effective response in the event of a crisis or critical situation.

With these $ 15 million, the project is expected to benefit around 365,000 people in the provinces of Mandoul and Moyen-Chari, through the rehabilitation of around 400 km of roads and tracks.

160 billion dollars is the amount that the World Bank plans to mobilize over a 15-month period ending in June 2021, to help more than 100 countries protect the poor and vulnerable, support businesses and promote economic recovery.
