Gabon braces up to send 4000 tonnes of basic aid to the hinterlands

More than 4,000 tonnes of goods are expected to be shipped within the country in the coming days. This is the reason why the Ministers of Trade and Transport had a working session, with the heads of the main transport companies and large retailers for the implementation of the Supply Program of consumer goods emergency in the hinterland.

The Minister of Commerce, Hugues Mbadinga Madiya, chaired a working session  with his Transport colleague Léon Armel Bounda Balonzi dedicated to the emergency supply program in the interior of the country. An initiative whose objective is to ensure the supply of consumer goods to those residing in the hinterland. More than 4,000 tonnes of goods are expected to be shipped there.

This meeting, which was attended by the Directors General and officials of  trade, land transport, the National Inland Navigation Company (CNNI), Société exploitation du Transgabonais (SETRAG) and the Ceca Gadis group, aimed to launch the platform collaborative with these entities. “In these times of health crisis, the instructions of the President of the Republic, Head of State, his Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba, are to ensure the availability of consumer goods, particularly the basic necessities on the entire national territory, ” the Minister of Commerce insisted.

This routing program concerns more than 4,000 tonnes of goods, destined for all the provinces of the country, according to the Minister of Commerce, it should start very quickly with the support of land, rail and sea carriers to avoid the risks of shortages linked to the absence of certain consumer goods in these areas.

“The Commerce, Transport and Interior administrations are ready and mobilized to facilitate this routing program in order to strengthen the stores of the Ceca Gadis group spread across the territory,”  Hugues Mbadinga Madiya said.
