In search of financing for its infrastructure projects, the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) is participating in the Paris Infraweek 2020 which is being held in a context of the Covid-19 crisis and its consequences on the world economy . CEMAC, which is represented there by the President of the Commission, is also by Ministers of the Economy of the Member States, including Gabonese Minister Jean-Marie Ogandaga.
Considered to be the major meeting place for infrastructure financing professionals, the Infraweek organized each year by Paris Europlace and the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Recovery is being held this year in a context of the Covid-related crisis. 19 with the consequences on the world economy.
From October 5 to 9, the various stakeholders will assess the challenges in terms of infrastructure for a recovery after the global health crisis. While the French Minister of the Economy pleads for investment in quality infrastructure, using innovative financial and technological solutions while reiterating the support of Europe and France to their partners, the Economic and Monetary Community of the Central Africa (Cemac) intends to take advantage of this.
At this meeting which, for a week, will bring together the entire global infrastructure value chain, CEMAC is well represented by Daniel Ona Ondo, president of the CEMAC Commission, as well as by a delegation of ministers in in charge of the economy of the member states including the Gabonese Jean-Marie Ogandaga.
“CEMAC’s participation in this meeting is part of the instructions given by the Heads of State of the sub-region with a view to accelerating the implementation of integrative projects, particularly in the field of infrastructure”, he indicated.
Daniel Ona Ondo invited investors to “finance the 12 integrative projects whose impact for the development of the area is proven”. According to the report of his participation on the official page of the Cemac Commission, he also presented the economic situation and the regional response plan of Cemac to the Covid-19.
The latter recalled “the historical and traditional links which unite France and the CEMAC countries” and hopes that “the investors of the metropolis will support this ambitious economic development plan”.
