The rise of digital finance in Congo at the heart of “Brazza Fintech tour 2020”

On the theme “The rise of FinTech and the new socio-economic challenges of the Congo”, the association Pratic headed by Luc Missidimbazi and the Africa FinTech forum are organizing, on October 1 and 2 in Brazzaville, a conference on ‘impact of digital finance technologies in accelerating socio-economic development.

The meeting, which benefits from the support of several organizations and institutions including the Postal and Electronic Communications Regulatory Agency, will bring together Congolese and African experts from the digital sector, banking, finance, insurance and start-ups. up involved in fintech, this new industry that deploys technology to improve financial activities.

“Digital innovation is now a real instrument in terms of wealth creation in all economic fields and the crucial impact of digital technology is a factor of emergence,” said Luc Missidimbazi.

The initiative is part of the Pratic association’s strategy of promoting and sensitizing communities with the Africa fintech forum, with the aim of bringing together finance and technology professionals for the sharing of experiences.

The 2020 edition takes place in a context characterized by the dynamic interrelation between the development of financial technologies, which is a factor of growth, and the establishment of an economic recovery strategy imposed by the financial crises.

Several statistics indicate, in fact, the economic and social difficulties which undermine many African countries. The Covid-19 health crisis surprised all economic analysts. It accelerated and accentuated the heavy consequences of the crisis on the Congolese economy generating new economic and social challenges.

At the same time, the development of the financial technology ecosystem is experiencing significant growth despite the low perfectibility of financial inclusion in the CEMAC zone, marked by the emergence of companies brimming with enormous potential in electronic payment services and transfer of funds.

The Africa Fintech tour 2020 therefore creates unique value for the fintech industry through all its activities, which take place over two days: conference, workshop, coaching and mentoring. What is the current state of FinTech in Congo; what answers can Fintech provide in the socio-economic development of the country; what are the prospects for development, are three main issues that will be addressed.

Africa Fintech Tour is a stage of the pan-African route which aims to bring together actors from the telecommunications industry, finance, digital technologies and innovation communities, coordinated by the Africa Fintech Forum platform.

In Congo, Ong Pratic, a platform for digital professionals and promoter of the Osiane International Fair, is the partner of this initiative.

The 2020 edition will take place face to face and online on dedicated platforms (web: www.africafintech.osiane.cg; Facebook @brazzafintechtour; Twitter @brazzafintechtour). Face-to-face participations are reserved for guests due to the conditions imposed by the authorities to stop the spread of Covid-19.
