SETRAG gets 30 new tankers to facilitate petroleum transport

The operating company of Transgabonais (SETRAG) has just reinforced its equipment. The company acquired 30 new tanks with a capacity of 24,000 cubic meters each. Produced in South Africa, they will be used to transport petroleum products within the country.

Victim of a derailment that damaged 5 tanks in the Andeme-Pont canton, 65 kilometers from Libreville, the Transgabonese Operating Company (SETRAG) has started to renew its equipment.

The company has just acquired 30 new tanks for the transportation of petroleum products within the country. With a capacity of 24 thousand cubic meters each, these tanks presented on May 22 come from South Africa. According to the head of the Setrag engine materials department, “the tanks will increase the capacity for transporting fuel and hydrocarbons to the interior of the country. This solves the problem of the fuel shortage observed in Haut-Ogooué,” Henri Ewombah explained.

Put into service a few days ago, three wagons equipped with tanks made a first test trip a few days ago which proved to be conclusive, according to officials of SETRAG.
