Prosper Zo’o Minto’o, The new General Manager of ASECNA

The Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar ( ASECNA ) has a new Director General. Among 6 candidates (Benin, Chad, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Comoros), it was that of Gabonese Prosper Zo’o Minto’o, who was unanimous. He was elected at the end of the 74th Extra-Ordinary  session of the Agency’s Committee of Ministers held on September 27, 2024 in Dakar, Senegal .

Previously Director of the Regional Office of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for West and Central Africa, he succeeds Mohamed Moussa of Nigerien nationality who had been in office since 2017 with two terms served.

With over twenty years of experience in the civil aviation sector, Prosper Zo’o Minto’o will be responsible for managing the Agency by implementing the decisions of the Board of Directors of the Committee of Ministers, with the assistance of nine directors.

Prosper Zo’o Minto’o is a civil aviation engineer from the National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC) in Toulouse, France. He also obtained other engineering degrees in applied electronics from the School of Applied Sciences (Insa) in Toulouse and the National Institute of Engineers in Libreville, Gabon. He has also held leadership positions within the International Air Transport Association (Iata) and Ascena.

The newly promoted has over thirty years of experience in civil aviation. During these years, he assumed progressive responsibilities, including management at the highest level. Prosper Zo’o Minto’o holds a master’s degree in engineering and related techniques.
