Gabon to host 27th African ReAssurance Forum

Riding on the success of the organization of Fanaf 2020, Gabon’s candidacy for the organization of the 27th edition of the African Reinsurance Forum in 2023 has been validated by the executive committee of the African Insurance Organization (OAA) , during its 93rd meeting held by videoconference.

This confidence in Gabon for the organization of this great meeting which will see the participation of a little more than 500 people, according to the president of the Gabonese Federation of Insurance Companies, also a member of the executive board of the African Organization insurance, Dr Andrew Crépin Gwodock, is a reflection of the rigor and seriousness of the Gabonese market. “Aware of this challenge, we will endeavor to carry out this new mission, in order to hoist the colors of Gabon higher,” he said.

The meeting, jointly organized by OAA and Fegasa, will run for more than a week. It will bring together African reinsurance professionals who will discuss topics dedicated to their profession and to the insurance sector.

In addition to validating Gabon’s candidacy for this meeting, the members of the organization’s executive committee also adopted the minutes of the last meeting in Johannesburg, the financial statements for the 2019 financial year, as well as the compliance of the organization in relation to the Ohada accounting system.

The OAA (AIO in English) is a non-governmental organization created in 1972, recognized by several governments of African countries and headquartered in Cameroon. It currently has 287 members in 50 countries in Africa, and associate international members in 5 countries.
