TOTAL Congo to manage Djeno Terminal for 20 years

Total boss Patrick Pouyanné was received by Head of State Denis Sassou N’Guesso on November 2 in Oyo, in the Cuvette department. The French hydrocarbon giant has benefited from a new 20-year contract, making it the main shareholder of the Djeno oil terminal.

The Djeno terminal gathers oil from all fields, not only from Total, but also from other operators in the Republic of Congo. “We have agreed to renew the concession of the Djeno Terminal, which is Total’s historic anchor in Congo, for another 20 years. Total’s story of this step will continue in good confidence with the authorities, “said Total CEO Patrick Pouyanné.

Normally, from November 18, the Djeno Terminal should return 100% to the Congolese state, this date marking the expiration of the contract with the French multinational. The Terminal will be shared by a consortium including Total and other oil companies like Perenco, Eni.

“A new era is about to open. The important thing for us is that the terminal is operated under safe conditions and that it is always available to all operators in the Republic “, concluded Patrick Pouyanné.
