The Deputy Prime Minister of the Gabonese Transition, Alexandre Barro-Chambrier, met with the Vice-President of the BDEAC, Jean Paterne Megne Ekoga, on January 13, 2025. This meeting made it possible to take stock of 2024 and explore possible synergies to finance Gabon’s development projects.

In Libreville, on January 13, 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Transition, Alexandre Barro-Chambrier, met with Jean Paterne Megne Ekoga, Vice President of the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC). The meeting aimed to take stock of the year 2024 and present the outlook for 2025, in a context where the Gabonese government is actively seeking ways to finance development projects.

” We took the opportunity to give him an update on the activity of the Development Bank of Central African States during the 2024 financial year and what we plan to do in 2025 and how to find synergies between the BDEAC and the Gabonese government to better impact the economic and social development of Gabon ,” said Jean Paterne Megne Ekoga.

BDEAC, headquartered in Brazzaville, plays an important role in financing public and private projects within CEMAC. ” BDEAC is the financing institution for Central African countries in the broadest possible sense. We therefore intervene to finance public and private projects to ensure the economic and social development of countries, as well as financial inclusion and the improvement of the living conditions of populations ,” he added.

Established in the 1970s, this financial institution supports initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable and inclusive development in the region.
