The French multinational announces the establishment of a group Solidarity plan worth 1.5 million euros, about 6 billion CFA francs for the response to the Covid-19 and a reallocation of actions to support communities around the group’s mining and metallurgical sites.
Mobilized for several weeks in the fight against the spread of Covid-19, through the implementation of preventive measures to protect the health of its employees and their families as well as through internal solidarity initiatives at all levels of the company, the French metallurgical group has decided to step up its intervention in the States where it operates.
ERAMET launched the creation of a group solidarity plan, fueled by an endowment of more than six billion CFA francs to finance the measures to fight the pandemic of Covid-19. To this pool is added a reallocation of community support actions around the group’s mining and metallurgical sites.

“In total, ERAMET will be able to devote around 10 million Euros to finance concrete measures to combat the spread and the consequences of the pandemic, through health actions (prevention and aid to the health sectors) and economic and social support, ” the group says.
Thus, in order to contribute personally to the solidarity plan, the group’s leaders decided to lower their remuneration for the months of April and May 2020. The group’s CEO, Christel Bories, decided to give up 25% of his compensation and allocate this amount to the Solidarity Plan. The members of the Executive Committee as well as those of the Board of Directors have decided to give up 10% of their remuneration in favor of the plan.
“Faced with the Coronavirus pandemic and its economic and societal impact, we have taken strong and concrete measures to support our employees, their families, and all of our stakeholders. I am confident in the group’s ability to get through this unprecedented situation with the mobilization of all the energies of the company. We need to show patience, courage and solidarity and this is how we will continue our path of responsible growth over the long term, ” Christel Bories reveals. According to the group’s general management, this exceptional mobilization is part of Eramet’s community investment strategy funded by the group at an average of 13 million euros per year.
