Eugenia Onyekwelu now head of UBA Gabon

Eugenia Onyekwelu is the new Managing Director of UBA Gabon. Until now Director of Operations, she replaces Chioma Mang, appointed Managing Director of UBA Uganda.

UBA Gabon has a new face. It is that of Eugenia Onyekwelu, who replaces Chioma Mang at the head of the Gabonese subsidiary of United Bank for Africa (UBA), appointed general manager of UBA Uganda.

The new leader has over 20 years of professional experience in banking, risk management, information technology, project management, relationship management, treasury and financial analysis.

Eugenia Onyekwelu joined UBA Gabon in 2012 as Director of Operations. “Over the past eight years, she has managed to immerse herself in the local culture and Gabonese macroeconomic context.

A true leader for its teams, which considers it to be the personalization of the Group’s values ​​of excellence, it has solid skills in finance and management, major assets for carrying out its new functions and raising the Gabonese subsidiary even higher ”, added asserted UBA.

Presented as versatile in banking practices, Eugenia Onyekwelu has contributed immensely to the strategic formation of certain Greenfield entities and to the standardization of Brownfield acquisition processes in 10 African countries.

She has also worked in various structured and unstructured project environments, with six years’ experience in project management. Holder of a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor in Finance, the new boss of UBA Gabon is married and the mother of two children.
