Congo’s Tax Directors charged to overcome Economic challenges

In order to enable the General Directorate of Taxes and Domains, the main provider of state coffers, to fulfill its sovereign mission in this time of economic crisis, the nine new central directors are called upon to be more dynamic at work.

The tax and customs advisor to the Minister of Finance and Budget, Hermman Rodney Gouellet, launched this appeal on August 19 in Brazzaville during the ceremony of handing over instructions between the new and the old central directors.

In the presence of the Director General of Taxes, Ludovic Itoua, he invited the central directors to work hard to allow the tax administration to replenish the state coffers.

According to Hermman Rodney Gouellet, the Controls and Services Department, for example, has many challenges to overcome, the first being to have competent staff so that this department can support the actions of the CEO. “As part of the ongoing reforms, this service will be crucial because it will set the pace internally. He will also be responsible for the control and monitoring of the taxpayer as well as the action of the various agents on the ground, ”he said.

Regarding the Directorate of Administrative and Financial Affairs, the latter insisted on the training of officers and the monitoring of their progress files.

It should be noted that the departments that have been the subject of handouts are those of control of services, regulation and litigation, registration, property and state taxation, taxation of large companies and small and medium-sized companies, personal taxation, petroleum taxation, studies and forecasting, administrative and financial affairs.

Thanking the public authorities for his confidence in himself, the Director of services control, Saya Moukassa, promised to give the best of him, while asking the supervisory authority to assign him competent executives so that together they achieve the objective fixed.

It should be noted that all the outgoing central directors have all asserted their pension rights.
