Congolese government to foster digital platform through 1Rivet support

The Republic of Congo already wants to start operationalizing e-government – an essential component of the Vision Congo digital 2025 strategy – with the implementation of an integrated platform for online public services in the country. The Congolese Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Digital Economy Léon Juste Ibombo and Charles Clavelli, representing the American 1Rivet, discussed on June 25 the deployment of a digital platform for public services. It will bring more efficiency and revenue to the state.

Signing Ceremony of the Partnership Agreement between the Ministry of Post, Telecom and Digital Economy of the Republic of Congo and 1Rivet.

For the minister, who sees digitization as an efficiency opportunity that will bring additional revenue to the government, “we cannot have platforms dotted around each department.” Léon Juste Ibombo said that through this multimodal platform, “it is above all a question of accelerating the process of the digital transformation of our country”, which has the infrastructure but lacks the necessary platforms.

The company 1Rivet – with which the Congo signed a partnership agreement on February 19, 2019 in Washington to support it in the process of digital transformation of its administration – announced the mobilization of 5 million dollars to initiate the construction of digitization of public services.
