Congo to adjust 2021-2023 Budgetary Policy

The Congolese government intends to continue implementing the reforms initiated a few years ago, as part of the implementation of the agreement reached with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The Council of Ministers of July 24 decided to initiate a prudential policy, with the objective of rationalizing budgetary expenditure and mobilizing internal non-oil revenue. In terms of revenue, there will be continued modernization of tax and customs administrations and strengthening of fiscal policy.

Regarding expenditure, the emphasis will be on efficiency, on-course compliance as well as on the implementation of tight management.

Public resource projections for the period 2021-2023 taking into account oil production forecast at 135.2 million barrels in 2021, 141.2 million barrels in 2022 and 128.4 million barrels in 2023.

The price Congolese crude is set at 35.0 dollars in 2021, 45.0 dollars in 2022 and 45.0 dollars in 2023, with an exchange rate of 1 dollar for 580.0 FCFA over the entire period
