Faced with the Covid-19 pandemic, Chad now has a local production unit of hydro-alcoholic solutions. The Minister of Public Health, Pr. Mahamoud Youssouf Khayal, launched production on Friday.
According to the Minister of Public Health, “this strategy aims to make this solution available in order to prevent scarcity, due to production stoppages linked to containment measures in certain countries and to low commercial and global traffic”.
The production laboratory is located within the walls of the Food Quality Control Center (CECOQDA), under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health, through the laboratory of the quality control service of the pharmacy management and of the drug.
It has a production capacity of more than 900 liters of hydro-alcoholic solution per day.
The World Health Organization, which supports this initiative, has suggested the local production of hydro-alcoholic solutions in low-income countries.
These locally manufactured solutions will be distributed through the Pharmaceutical Purchasing Center.
