In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Single Window for Foreign Trade Operations (GUCE) has reviewed its operation. In consultation with foreign trade players, the company has, over the past two weeks, strengthened digitalization by taking appropriate measures to reconcile the imperative of combating the spread of the pandemic and ensuring continuity of service.
Four main measures have been taken to this end. It is in a bid to respect the hygiene measures decreed to fight against the spread of the virus, the permanence by rotation of staff, the fluidity of foreign trade operations adapted to the current health situation and the telework towards which the GUCE is already carried. , since most of the procedures are done online.
The meetings are now held by videoconference and the first assessment made on April 13, 2020, gives, in the opinion of the employees, rather satisfactory results. A translation in the acts, of the daily implementation of telework which allows to efficiently carry out the facilitation of foreign trade.
GUCE Director General Isidore Biyiha takes this opportunity to remind users, in this case, shippers, freight forwarders, consignees, partners and all users of the e-Guce platform “that it is strongly recommended to limit physical travel to the GUCE in order to favor the use of digital tools in the context of the implementation of the dematerialization of procedures. ”Because the services they use remain accessible on the internet, therefore suitable for teleworking.
The other value-added services, in this case, assistance services, electronic payment solutions and e-Force make it possible to efficiently carry out the formalities of foreign trade while respecting social distancing measures.
