Gabon’s Water and Electricity bemoans Non-payment of Bills

In a press release dated November 22, 2025, the Gabonese Water and Energy Company (SEEG) reminded its customers of the crucial importance of paying their outstanding water and electricity bills. In this context, the public company emphasized its continued commitment to fulfilling its core mission of providing essential services, despite a sustained increase in demand.

The company is facing a critical increase in its customer receivables. SEEG stated that it is deprived of a portion of its cash flow, which is essential to meet operational requirements, maintain facilities, and guarantee the regular provision of vital services such as water and electricity.

As a result, SEEG is asking all of its affected subscribers, whether individuals or companies, to regularize their situation before December 6, 2025, which is the strict deadline.

After this date, the company reserves the right to use all legal means to recover the amounts owed. Subscribers are therefore encouraged to make their payments, by any means, at their sales offices during normal opening hours.

SEEG concludes by emphasizing that paying bills on time is an act of civic responsibility. It is therefore essential for improving and ensuring the long-term viability of public drinking water and electricity services throughout the country. The company hopes that this will prevent it from having to resort to the final stage of debt collection measures.
