0.50% excluding tax now applied for transfers out of CEMAC beyond 5 million FCFA

The national directorate of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), responsible for the implementation of new provisions for transfers outside the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa, has been carrying out, since January 1, 2021, the levy of 0.50% for the commission for transfers outside Cemac greater than or equal to 5,000,000 CFA francs.

The Bank of Central African States has made enforceable, since January 1, 2021, within its member states, the new provisions on transfers outside the Central African Economic and Monetary Community. These determine the commission to be levied by the Central Bank, applied to approved intermediaries of the Treasuries and national public accountants, as well as to all who participate in the systems and means of payment, account holders in the BEAC books.

“The rate of the commission to be charged by the Central Bank during the execution of outgoing transfers outside Cemac on behalf of authorized intermediaries is set at 0.5% excluding tax of the amount”, the monetary issuing institution under regional assured.

The BEAC specifies that this is in addition to the commission rate applied by credit institutions to their customers, which cannot exceed 1% excluding tax of the amount, in accordance with instruction n ° 002 / GR / 2019 relating to the pricing of transfer operations.
