UNDP pledges support to the CAR over covid-19 response

The Central African Republic Minister of Finance and Budget Henri-Marie has exchanged  with the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the Central African Republic Nathalie Boucly. The coronavirus pandemic response plan was on the menu of the talks.

For Ms. Nathalie Boucly, this crisis goes beyond health and could have very serious consequences for populations. “This is why, it is necessary to carry out a study of socio-economic impact of this health crisis and to work out a document of pleading taking into account all the priorities of the government,”  the host of the Minister Dondra.

She added that it would be desirable for the government and its partners to reflect on what they should do so that people can emerge more resilient from this health crisis. To this end, the UNDP has expressed its availability to support the Central African government.

It is important to remember that as part of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic (covid-19), the State of the Central African Republic has put in place a response plan budgeted at around 133,486,544,990 FCFA. This amount may be increased after the adoption of the national coronavirus pandemic response plan.
