SMEs in Cameroon to align to the National Development Strategy

As part of the structural transformation of the national economy, the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts wants SMEs and craft operators to participate in national development. This, to align with the National Development Strategy (SND30).

2021 will only be the continuation of a project that had been started in 2020. “In 2020, this administration had given priority to resources from the special Covid-19 fund to SMEs in the local processing of agri-food products but which ended up affected by the health crisis.”

So, “this support will therefore continue during this year. It will be a question of densifying and diversifying the industrial fabric to increase the local supply of mass consumption products, strengthen the competitiveness of products in these sectors, promote the local development initiative by social economy actors and artisans. , improve access to financing for SMEs, craftspeople and social economy actors.”

It is therefore in this sense that Minister Achille Bassilekin III recalled that: “at the strategic level, our ministerial department must be able, by drawing inspiration from the sectoral policies contained in the SND30 on the one hand, to define new objectives and strategic orientations to structure its action, and on the other hand assign to those in charge roadmaps and specifications to guide their actions or interventions in the field ”,

At the operational level, it will also be a question of “having his administration support this dynamic by mobilizing the necessary resources with a view to optimizing performance to achieve concrete results in the field”, we read.

Finally, “2021 will also be a year of major events for the promotion of the SME, craft and social economy sectors. Among other things, the first international days of cooperation and partnership are planned for better coordination of the financing mechanisms of financial partners… ”
