Port of Brazzaville gets new Management

Appointed by the Council of Ministers on December 18, 2024, the new Director General of the Autonomous Port of Brazzaville and Secondary Ports, Séraphin Mouendzi, and his deputy Lionel Daniel Konabeka took office on January 3. Aware of the heavy task that awaits them, they promise to take up the challenges.

An accountant by training, Séraphin Mouendzi succeeds Daniel Molongandzeyi who held this position for four years. With his deputy, Lionel Daniel Konabeka, they form a duo that will have to work with objective in order to provide the Autonomous Port of Brazzaville and secondary ports (PABPS) with suitable solutions to the many problems it faces.

His battle will consist, initially, in improving working conditions at the twelve port sites scattered across the country, but four of which are in Brazzaville. These are the Beach, the Passenger Port, the Public Port and that of Yoro.

In light of the unflattering synoptic picture of the PABPS, painted by the outgoing general director, the new board of directors has undertaken to do everything possible to rekindle its flame so that it too can contribute to the economic development of Congo.

Its objective is also and above all, indicated the new general director, to allow the hundred or so agents who work there to work in optimal conditions and to guarantee all their interests.

”  As of today, we will spare no effort to work tirelessly for the development of the Autonomous Port of Brazzaville and secondary ports  ,” said Séraphin Mouendzi.

Installing the new team, the director of the office of the Minister of River Economy and Waterways reminded them of the challenges that await them for which they must provide appropriate solutions. ”  It is a great burden that weighs on your shoulders. The tasks to be accomplished are enormous and require you to be responsible in order to achieve the objectives that you are assigned. But, in the accomplishment of your mission, you must ensure compliance with the texts however you want to take action  ,” he told them.
