“No contamination of our products” – SOBRAGA

The Société des Brasseries du Gabon SOBRAGA  has announced that her products are Covid 19 free, emphasing that all measures have been taken to avoid any contagious infection within the company. This follows rumours about the company’s products being infected by the coronavirus after its Director General was tested positive of the pandemic.

Amidst bad publicity towards Gabon’s brewery giant, generating panic in the public, the management has come out to dispel all doubts. In a statement, the company said, “Since the start of the covid-19 health crisis, SOBRAGA has taken all necessary measures to limit the spread of the virus and support government response measures.”

On the rumours surrounding the health of the company’s boss,  SOBRAGA added that, “The Director General of SOBRAGA, Fabrice Bonatti, has been traveling outside the country since March 4, 2020. Tested positive during his stay in France, he was placed in confinement and followed the recommended treatment. His remission is now complete, he is cured and he will be able to resume his functions in Gabon soon.”

As part of the preventive measures taken as of March 10, 2020, the company specifies that all of its Executives and employees returning from leave abroad all observe a total confinement period of 14 days. “SOBRAGA Secretary General Xavier Jaffret, who returned from vacation in France on March 14, 2020, observed a total confinement of 14 days, during which no symptoms of covid-19 were observed. He has  resumed his duties on March 30. At the end of his second day of work on March 31, observing certain slight symptoms, he was again placed in preventive confinement, as were all of the employees with whom he was in contact within the framework of his duties on 30 and March 31, 2020 .”

According to this update, “the results of the tests carried out were received on April 6 and confirm that he is positive for covid-19. In accordance with the procedure, he has been  kept in confinement and placed under treatment. All employees placed in preventive confinement are also kept in confinement and will be tested in the coming days. “

However, the Société des Brasseries du Gabon  pointed  out that the risk of contamination of beverages does not exist. “Indeed, there is no direct contact between employees and products, from manufacturing to palletizing and bottling. Our state-of-the-art production tool is fully automated, thereby eliminating all risks associated with contact between employees and products. SOBRAGA strictly meets the FSSC 22 000 certification for food safety and cannot tolerate any potential risk related to the consumption of its products, “the company said.

“SOBRAGA is doing everything to protect its employees and support the authorities in fighting the covid-19 pandemic. Our services are available by phone, email or via social networks for any question, concern or clarification in the troubled times we are going through. We once again call on everyone’s vigilance and responsibility to deal with this serious health crisis, ”it added.
