Ngueto Tiraina named FAGACE chief

The Council of Ministers of African countries members of FAGACE (African Guarantee and Economic Cooperation Fund), meeting on Friday, June 26, have officially and unanimously appointed Chadian Ngueto Tiraïna Yambaye Director General of this institution.

After a long international recruitment process with nearly 70 candidates, the former Chadian Minister of Economy, Ngueto Tiraïna Yambaye, has established himself as the best candidate for the post of Director-General of the African Guarantee and Economic cooperation. Thus, the Council of Ministers of the member countries unanimously appointed it on June 26, 2020 to ensure the leadership of this international organization serving 14 African countries.

Ngueto Tiraïna Yambaye is, in fact, a high-level economist specializing in International Finance and Financing Strategy. He has over 25 years of international and national experience. Former Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, he was also an administrator of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) for Africa. Pundits believe he therefore,has all the qualities and expertise to make FAGACE a credible institution serving the economic transformation of member countries and Africa.

The candidacy of Ngueto Tiraïna Yambaye was supported by the Chadian authorities, in particular the Minister of Finance and Budget, Tahir Hamid Nguilin. Head of State Idriss Déby Itno personally followed the recruitment process, which saw the appointment of the now FAGACE Director General.

Created on February 10, 1977 in Kigali, Rwanda. It is an initiative which aims inter alia to: strengthen the ties of cooperation and solidarity of the members of the organization; foster the harmonious growth of their economies; offer maximum security to foreign and domestic capital wishing to invest in Africa.
