ICT University announces 5 Billion FCFA funding Scheme to advance Technological drive

5 Billion CFA frs is the amount that will help students realise their school projects at the ICT University in the days ahead. This announcement was made public by Professor Victor Mbarika, Founder and President of board of trustees of the ICT University, at the 14th edition the of matriculation ceremony baptised as George Mbarika senior Batch. As the new academic year begins, ICT University is poised to continue its tradition of excellence in education and innovation. With a focus on equipping students with the skills needed for the digital age, the institution is committed to fostering an environment where creativity and technological advancement thrive.

“Students may have great ideas, but their families may not have money to fund these great ideas .We invest and they can create jobs instead of waiting on the Government.” Prof Victor Mbarika emphasized. He stressed that it was unfair to rely on the Government to fund projects. “It is our duty as patriotic Cameroonians to fund young people that have great ideas.”

The oath taken by the students ,remind them of good conduct in all academic disciplines. The 14th edition of the matriculation ceremony for freshmen at the ICT University took place yesterday at the Jean Emmanuel Pondi conference hall.

The event marked a significant milestone for over 1500 students embarking on their educational journeys in the fields of Information and Communication Technology as they are christianed as George Mbarika senior Batch. The Vice-Chancellor of ICT U, Pr. Jean Emmanuel Pondi emphasized the importance of resilience and innovation in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. ”We want people to know that they are coming here not to joke.But we want them to be extremely deligent and good in whatever they are doing.” the VC highlighted

Speaking on the reason behind the naming of the George Mbarika batch, Prof Jean Emmanuel Mpondi highlighted ”Its a significant move. You we are in Africa and we have to respect African tradition and African way of life. We honour those who are hourable like him.”


The keynote speaker, renowned tech entrepreneur and the Fon of Zang Tabi, shared his personal journey to the student. His speech and that of Professor Victor Mbarika, President of the board of trustees of the ICT university resonated strongly with the audience as they* *highlighted the importance for students to be job creators and respect for shool rules and regulations.

The ceremony, themed “Quality Education: Creating Solutions and Shaping the Future,” commissioned over 500 students to drive change. Top traditional and academic dignitaries attended, pledging support to the matriculating students

The new students were formally inducted into the university community. They took an oath of commitment to uphold the values and standards of ICT University. The ceremony featured live band performances by student groups, showcasing the diversity and talent within the ICT university Family.The freshmen were encourage to create projects to be financed by the school administration, an opportunity to connect with industry professionals and reduce unemployment in cameroon.
