General Inspectorate of Finance: executives equipped with audit techniques

Inspectors and auditors from the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) participated, from 12 October to 16 November in Brazzaville, in a training course on the revised international standards of supreme audit institutions.

Organized by the Integrated Public Sector Reform Project (Prisp), the training aimed to build the capacities of the personnel of the Republic of Congo’s control bodies called upon to carry out financial audits as well as other controls with public and private companies, institutions and establishments.

The topics developed during this training focused on “how to conduct compliance, performance and accounting audit assignments” according to ISSAI standards and the financial information standards of the entities to be audited.

For the participants in this training, the application of the control standards of the international organization constitutes the pivot of the improvement of the governance of public finances in Congo because, it is essential to ensure the credibility, the quality and the professionalism of the control of public finances.

Remember that the Prisp is co-financed by the Congo and the World Bank. It is an important tool to support the government in public sector governance. It allows the state to speed up the process of sector reforms. The capacity building of the beneficiary institutions of the project makes it possible to better equip the executives and agents of these public structures to better increase the effectiveness and efficiency of public action.
