Gabon will host the first-ever Global Gateway Investment Forum on January 30, 2025. This event, organized under the auspices of the European Union (EU), aims to promote transformative investments that can stimulate sustainable development in the country and within the sub-region.
Economic actors from the public and private sectors, donors, development financial institutions (DFIs), banks and other stakeholders in the investment ecosystem will meet in Libreville on January 30 for this unprecedented Forum. Under the auspices of the European Union, it aims to promote high-impact investments capable of driving sustainable growth in Gabon and Central Africa.

The central objective of the Forum is to present the Global Gateway Strategy, an international cooperation framework set up by the EU to mobilize public and private capital to meet investment needs in strategic sectors. Drawing on innovative tools developed by the European Union, this initiative aims to address Gabon’s economic, social and environmental challenges while encouraging sustainable and inclusive partnerships. Discussions will focus on the policies and initiatives needed to stimulate investment, particularly in the context of the ecological transition and green development. This Forum is also intended to be a platform for identifying investment priorities for Gabon and the Central African sub-region.
Following an opening plenary session dedicated to the presentation of the main axes of the Global Gateway strategy, participants will have the opportunity to participate in three parallel thematic sessions. These sessions will focus on resilient infrastructure and the business climate as catalysts for investment, on access to finance and on green investment, with a particular focus on financing the ecological transition.
For Gabon, this Forum represents a strategic opportunity to leverage European partnerships to finance its economic and ecological development. As the country seeks to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on extractive industries, the Global Gateway Forum could play a crucial role in mobilizing more capital, stimulating innovation and strengthening infrastructure resilience.
