Danpullo Group boosts Cameroon’s Covid 19 response with 100 million FCFA

The Danpullo group, represented by the Director General of Nexttel, presented this afternoon in the Conference Room of Ministry of Public Health, a check of 100 million  FCFA  to Dr. Manaouda Malachi, Minister of Public Health, to beef up  the Special National Solidarity Fund for the fight against Covid-19, created on Tuesday March 31, 2020, by the President of the Republic.

This quick reaction is therefore the response to this call for contributions from all, launched by the Head of State, said the Director of Nexttel,  representative of the Board chairperson Baba Danpullo.

On behalf of the Government, the Public Health chief welcomed the republican gesture and the citizen approach, in the response. He then invited other companies to follow the Group, given the magnitude of the pandemic. “Our young economy stressed, needs support, needs help to limit the evolution of the Covid-19 and avoid its spread”.

The Minister has reminded everyone that respect for hygiene measures is a necessity. And now everyone should cover their mouth and nose if they don’t stay at home. “By protecting ourselves, we protect others,” he concluded.

The Minister also made a suggestion to Mr. Director General of Nexttel.
He asked him if it was not possible for mobile telephone companies to constantly spread awareness messages, but also to lower the cost of communication and internet connection. Dr Malachie says, “The current situation requires people to remain connected. Therefore, they will make use of these means of communication. By reviewing the costs down, these companies will contribute in their way to fight against the pandemic.”

The Director General  reassured the Minister that such measures have been taken at Viettel for the past few weeks. And more actions will be carried out.
