Bilateral relations between Congo and Namibia have strengthened since the opening in Brazzaville, in December 2014, of the Namibian embassy. The two countries now intend to expand their cooperation in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and crafts.
Received by the Minister of SMEs, Handicrafts and the Informal Sector, Yvonne Adélaïde Mougany, on September 9, the outgoing Ambassador of Namibia to Congo, Major-General Vilio H. Hifindaka, praised the excellent relations between his country and the Congo. During this interview, they reviewed the level of trade, the sharing of experiences in business creation, the exchanges between Namibian and Congolese businessmen.

“About thirty Namibian business leaders have traveled to Congo over the past few years to develop their businesses and take advantage of existing opportunities. They have signed cooperation agreements in the sectors of agriculture, the timber industry and the hotel industry with Congolese companies. It should also be noted that the Inter-State Institute of Loudima, in the department of Bouenza, is the symbol of the friendship between the two countries. The site of this polytechnic is on the former South-West African Peoples Organization (Swapo) camp, where fighters for the liberation of Namibia and southern Africa were organized.
A few years ago, Presidents Denis Sassou N’Guesso of Congo, and Hifikepunye Pohamba, of Namibia, decided to transform this center into an elite training institute. The establishment now trains young nationals of these two countries in various trades such as construction, mechanics, electricity, masonry, agriculture, hairdressing, sewing, baking …
