Finance and Budget Minister Hamid Tahir Nguilin hosted a press conference this Saturday. He clarified the message to the nation from the President of the Republic, Idriss Deby Itno, and gave an update on the economic and financial situation in Chad.
Since its appearance, the Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted world trade and created a psychosis among populations. The Chadian government has taken several measures to stop the spread of the disease. The head of the Finance department met with national and international journalists on April 25 with the aim of shedding light on the various points of government commitments and enumerating the efforts undertaken since the start of the Coronavirus.
Hamid Tahir Nguilin noted that agents of the state are working hard to fulfill the commitments of the head of state. Instructions have been given to the various ministries to take concrete measures in favor of vulnerable groups, economic operators, young people, etc. The Minister of Finance reassures that the 50% reduction measure on taxes for all economic operators in all sectors will be applied.
A death benefit payment is expected by next week. 1,644 beneficiaries will receive the earnings as well as around 3,000 retirees. The lists will be published everywhere.
The Minister of Finance and Budget also announces the launch of a 30 Billion fund for youth entrepreneurship in the first week of May.
