The Minister of Public Health, Professor Mahamoud Youssouf Khayal, made a press conference this Sunday to give more details on the government’s efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The budget for the disease contingency plan has been revised upwards, thanks to the support of partners.
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, the government has taken steps to protect the people of Chad. This is among others the case of: the establishment of a mobile laboratory; the requisition of Farcha Provincial Hospital; the training of 910 agents including 58 laboratory technicians, 275 doctors, district chiefs and nurses, 311 in surveillance, 226 agents in training.
“Following the message to the nation of the Head of State of April 14, 2020, in terms of health contingency, Chad has had to benefit from the increased support of our partners. The budget was thus revised upwards, from 15 billion to 31 billion ” the Minister of Public Health, Professor Mahamoud Youssouf Khayal revealed.
The head of the Department of Public Health also reveals that the medical personnel in this war for the survival of the populations took the risk head on. It should be noted that a dozen contaminated agents, five have recovered, and the others waiting to be cured
