Cameroon’s SME Promotion Agency creates virtual platform to assist enterprises

In a bid to ensure the respect of measures decreed by the government to fight against covid-19 including containment; the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Promotion Agency (APME) has created a platform which allows it to continue to give advice to business promoters. It is thanks to its site “apme.cm”.

The website of the Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises has reserved, since last week, a section allowing business promoters to interact with technicians, according to their needs. Once the concern has been raised in the form of a comment, the service assigned to it responds by call or message. A fixed number also supports the platform. From their office or home, technicians respond to concerns.

This service was carried out a few days ago, face-to-face within the agency: “it was dematerialized not only to limit human presence at the agency, but also to respond more effectively to needs of increasingly worried business leaders, given the evolution of the pandemic and its impact on their business ”.

“The platform  is part of the response plan against Covid-19, put in place by the government,” the Director General Jean Marie Louis Badga said in the press release announcing the creation of the platform. Small and medium sized Enterprises face a lot of challenges with about 200 SME already shut down in Douala, the economic capital of Cameroon as a result of the pandemic.
