Cameroon to have third Brewery Industry

A third brewery company is coming to Cameroon after Société Anonyme des Brasseries du Cameroun (SABC), a subsidiary of the French group Castel and Union des Brasseries du Cameroun (UCB) owned by Cameroonian billionaire Kadji de Fosso. Societe Brasseries Samuel Foyou (BRASAF) , the agro-industrial giant will be producing and distributing brewery products in the country.

We are yet to know the date and settlement of this company. But Samuel Foyou, a business magnet is the brain behind the initiative, heading the Board of Directors with a share capital of 100 billion FCFA.

Foyou who’s is the major shareholder in Société Camerounaise de Fermentation (FERMENCAM),  a distillery bought in 2006 from billionaire Victor Fotso, with a turnover of 12 billion CFA francs in 2013, had asked government for 2000 hectares of land to begin planting fruits for the production of natural fruit juice.

The Act of creation was deposited with a Notary in the economic capital, Douala.

Samuel Foyou, who made his fortune through commercial activities in Congo and Angola, is also the owner of UNALOR, a match production company also bought from the Fotso group in 2009, of PLASTICAM, of SOTRASEL (salt production de cuisine), Biscuiterie Samuel Foyou (BSF), and Moore Paragon. This 56-year-old Cameroonian economic operator is currently building in downtown Douala, the very first 5-star hotel in the Chrystal palace chain, newly created by him.
