During a ceremony held on January 8, 2025 in Douala, 72 BGFIBank Cameroon employees were decorated by the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Grégoire Owona. These distinctions, symbols of recognition for their contribution to the excellence of the company, are part of a now well-established tradition.

The hall was full on January 8, 2025 in Douala for the presentation of work medals to BGFIBank Cameroon employees. Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Grégoire Owona, 72 staff members were honored for their commitment. Among them, 31 received vermeil medals, 45 silver and 2 gold. This ceremony, the second of its kind after that of 2022, recognizes years of dedication and performance.

In his speech, the Minister congratulated the recipients and stressed the importance of such distinctions. “Today, we celebrate the worker, this driving force essential to the success of a company like BGFIBank Cameroon,” he said, recalling that these awards encourage the continuous quest for excellence.

Thought leadership at the heart of success

For Abakal Mahamat, CEO of BGFIBank Cameroon, these medals reflect the company’s values. “These employees are the architects of our success. This recognition is an encouragement to continue in this dynamic of excellence,” he said.

Since its creation in 2011, the Cameroonian subsidiary of the BGFI Holding Corporation group has continued to distinguish itself as a major player in the banking sector in the CEMAC zone. With approximately 300 employees, the company acquired a brand new headquarters in December 2024, inaugurated by Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic. This new space symbolizes BGFIBank Cameroon’s desire to strengthen the well-being and productivity of its employees.

A vision looking towards 2025

BGFI Holding Corporation, present in 12 countries, remains a key player in the CEMAC zone. Employing nearly 3,000 employees, the group launched its strategic project “Dynamique 2025” in 2020. Based on five pillars – governance, human capital, risk management, development and resources – this project demonstrates an ambition for transformation and innovation.

BGFIBank Cameroon, as a subsidiary, embodies these objectives. The honorary distinctions awarded illustrate the importance given to human capital, the main driver of the group’s performance.

With its values of hard work, integrity and team spirit, BGFIBank Cameroon intends to continue to shine in 2025 and beyond. The January 8 ceremony is just one example of the company’s commitment to rewarding and motivating its employees, while consolidating its position as a leading bank in the region.

The recognition of a job well done, embodied by these medals, augurs a bright future for BGFIBank Cameroon and its teams, firmly committed to the path of excellence.
