On May 24, 2024, the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Grégoire Owona, on behalf of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, honored the Globeleq staff in Cameroon.
Alongside the top management led by Frédéric Mvondo, Managing Director of Globeleq in Cameroon, 79 medals including 61 in silver, 16 in vermeil and 2 in gold were awarded to deserving staff in an atmosphere culminating between retirement and promotion to new responsibilities.
Symbol of a Cameroonian Nation which rewards the builders; Regarding top management, Grégoire Owona salutes the calm and social cohesion that prevail within the Globeleq subsidiary in Cameroon. With 5,312 hours of work without accidents, Globeleq Cameroon staff showed all their determination to proudly fulfill their responsibilities; laudable actions aimed at ensuring more than 20% of the production of electrical energy necessary for lighting Cameroonian homes and households.
The result of a collective commitment to serve great causes, “They must be proud of it” commented Frédéric Mvondo, Managing Director of Globeleq Cameroon; who was joined by Minister Grégoire Owona who reminded the various staff delegates to carry out their part well in terms of defending the interests of their colleagues, while refusing to act as co-managers of the business.
Crowned with retirement for some, other medals to come for others; emotion was strong in light of the statements collected from the recipients. For Yolande Tchouatat, Office Manager at Globeleq and recipient of a silver medal and another in vermeil, “… It is an honor because it is the consecration of sixteen years of work… This afternoon, I am particularly happy and moved to have received two medals from the hands of the Minister of Labor and Social Security” Now retired after 36 years of service, Joseph Pangob, topographer at Globeleq Cameroon is savoring this last moment as an employee of the group ; “…A spirit of joy animates me. I should have had this medal since 2012 but Covid-19 had an influence. I feel what I had to do for the country,” he rejoiced.
Like a soldier who is never empty; For Richard Iffot, Director of Human Resources, also a member of the Management Committee at Globeleq Cameroon, the Silver and Vermeil medals received celebrate dedication and recognize professional excellence. “…Receiving the labor medals of honor in silver and vermeil from the hands of the Minister of Labor and Social Security represents for me, an official recognition of the commitment and contribution of the Director of Human Resources that I am, both towards his company and towards society as a whole… This is also a testament to my professional excellence and dedication towards employee development and well-being. In addition, these distinctions strengthen my reputation and my status as an HR manager within the professional HR community,” he said with great emotion.
