Telecom operator Orange Cameroon is strengthening its digital inclusion strategy with the creation of five Orange Digital Centers (ODCs) located in several university cities across the country. With an investment of 1.5 billion CFA francs, these centers are becoming major hubs for training, creation, and support for technological entrepreneurship .
As part of a drive for digital transformation and inclusion, Orange Cameroon has launched an ambitious initiative by providing the country with five Orange Digital Centers (ODCs): a central hub in Douala and four ODC Clubs located at the universities of Buea, Dschang, Ngaoundéré, and Yaoundé. A sixth center is currently being developed in Maroua. These “innovation greenhouses” are spaces designed to stimulate creativity, strengthen digital skills, and facilitate the professional integration of young people.

Of the 1.5 billion CFA francs invested, more than 500 million were allocated to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Each center boasts its own architectural identity, conducive to collaborative learning. They are equipped with advanced digital tools such as 3D printers, laser printers, and digital milling machines, promoting hands-on learning and technical innovation.
The ODCs are structured around three complementary spaces: The Code School, which offers training in digital development and skills; The FabLab, or digital manufacturing workshop, where beneficiaries can create innovative prototypes; and Orange Fab, an incubator supporting start-ups in the growth phase.
The project’s main focus remains digital training. Orange Cameroon has invested nearly 900 million CFA francs in acquiring educational content, purchasing software, and funding support programs. International certifications are also available, as is support through mentoring, coaching, and innovation competitions.
The results are tangible: thanks to ODCs, local startups have been able to raise more than 340 million CFA francs internationally. Connected to a network of 30 centers in 25 countries, Cameroonian ODCs benefit from an opening to major challenges such as POESAM or the Orange Summer Challenge, facilitating access to international investment funds such as Orange Venture or Fuzé.
The Orange Cameroon Board of Directors confirms its commitment to expanding this unique concept to all regions of the country. New centers are currently being developed, reflecting the operator’s commitment to making digital technology a lever for inclusive and sustainable development for Cameroonian youth.
