Yaoundé – Abong-Mbang Electricity Line to be delivered in 15 months

This was during the monitoring and evaluation mission of the work relating to the interconnection of the Southern Interconnected Network (RIS) and the Eastern Interconnected Network, on September 18, 2020.

The overall rate of completion of work on the 225 KV Yaoundé – Abong-Mbang and Nkongsamba – Bafoussam high voltage line construction project carried out on all sites in the Central and Eastern regions is 25% .

“As the technical sheet indicates, 151 foundations have been completed out of the 667 planned and 66 pylons have already been erected out of 667. Concerning the Abong-Mbang substation, the civil engineering works are estimated at 65% in terms of foundations for transformers and 35% for the firewall. Regarding the acquisition of equipment, the head of the control mission speaks of 95% of supplies already available at the various sites.”

During the monitoring and evaluation mission of the work relating to the interconnection of the South Interconnected Network (RIS) and the East Interconnected Network (RIE), MINEE declared that “the schedule was respected. Within 15 months, the site will be delivered despite the constraints observed a few months ago “.

Before reassuring that: “The East will be connected to energy and the load shedding will be a distant memory from now on. The energy will be more stable because it will be transported by a much more upgraded line.”

Thus, the objective of this project financed by Exim Bank India to the tune of CFAF 77.155 billion is to interconnect the RIS made up of the Central, Coastal, South, South-West, West and North regions. -West to the RIE which only has the East region.
