A Unique Meeting Place, Accelerating Business and Funding

VivaTech has established itself as the most productive business event, with more than 400,000 digital business connections and widespread enthusiasm among industry players for generating commercial leads. This year, over 13,500 startups had the opportunity to establish commercial relationships with companies from more than 25 sectors and meet over 2,000 investors and investment funds such as Accel, KKR, Lightspeed, Sequoia Capital, Eurazeo, and GV (Google Ventures) during the three professional days.

Viva Technology Confirms Its International Appeal

VivaTech has become the epicenter for meetings and discussions on tech and innovation worldwide. More than 120 countries were represented, with around 40 national pavilions including Canada, Taiwan, Brazil, the UK, and Germany. Japan, Country of the Year, showcased its tech ecosystem with a ministerial delegation and over 40 startups. Africa was once again present with a dedicated area for talent and startups, the Africa Tech Lab. For the third consecutive year, the AfricaTech Awards, sponsored by Airtel and Cassava Technology, highlighted the most innovative startups in Climate Tech, Health Tech, FinTech & Ecommerce in Africa. This year’s winners included Schoolz for Climate Tech, Rology for Health Tech, and Inclusivity Solutions for FinTech & Ecommerce.

AI and Sustainable Tech at the Heart of the 2024 Program

VivaTech 2024 was the venue for showcasing the latest practical AI solutions, with nearly 40% of exhibitors presenting innovations in this field, particularly through a new space: the AI Avenue, the event’s bustling hub for four days.

VivaTech’s strengthened commitment to responsible tech was evident with the Impact Bridge, sponsored by EDF, a dedicated aisle for initiatives and innovations with a positive impact to build a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Over 400 debates took place, with more than two-thirds from international speakers, including inspiring personalities such as John Kerry, Rachel Delacour (Sweep), Robin Li (Baidu), Arthur Mensch (Mistral AI), Yann LeCun (Meta), and Dario Amodei (Anthropic). From its first edition, VivaTech has aimed to be exemplary in environmental matters. This year’s efforts were rewarded with the ISO 20-121 certification, reflecting the structuring of its CSR policy initiated over two years ago.

Diversity at the Core of VivaTech’s DNA

As every year, women were in the spotlight: over 40% of speakers at VivaTech were women. The Female Founder Challenge, supported by Mazars, JCDecaux, and Verizon, awarded Albane Dersy, co-founder of inbolt, a robotics software company developing real-time guidance using 3D vision and AI. The 100 + 100 mentoring program facilitated meetings between more than 100 young girls and 100 influential women in tech to inspire vocations. Additionally, several initiatives were renewed, such as Impact Builders, in partnership with Diversidays, aiming to accelerate impact-driven businesses of entrepreneurs who, due to their age, social conditions, or origin, lack sufficient opportunities in the tech ecosystem, and Femtech France, which launched its second barometer on the Femtech industry promoting innovations in women’s health during VivaTech.

“VivaTech has firmly established itself as the place that redefines the debate around innovation, technology, and startups. The numbers speak for themselves, with records that position us as the event attracting the world’s top speakers and creating economic bridges between Europe, Asia, and the Americas. VivaTech News attracted 6.5 million online viewers worldwide. We are also very proud that VivaTech in Paris is the unique and privileged place for technology, innovation, artificial intelligence, and business. It’s where investors, startups, and large companies meet very productively. We want to thank all the innovation giants who joined us to debate the most crucial societal issues, all our partners, and the VivaTech teams who accomplish a tour de force every year,” said co-presidents Maurice Lévy and Pierre Louette, along with François Bitouzet, CEO of Viva Technology.
