Since its creation and the effective launch of its activities, until the end of the second distribution phase completed this weekend, the Food Bank has benefited from the support of several companies, associations and individuals who have enabled it to harvest 694,247 tonnes of products essential items to distribute to vulnerable and distressed populations.
The figures collected from the Ministry of Commerce do not, however, explain the frustration of the hundreds of fragile people in Grand Libreville who claim not to have benefited from this state aid.

If on the ground the distribution of kits and food vouchers remains mixed due to complaints from hundreds of people fulfilling the criteria, but who claim not to have benefited from state aid, on paper, the Food bank was a great operation. Created to support vulnerable populations in distress during a health crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the initiative federated locally where 60 companies, associations and individuals contributed.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, this contribution made it possible to collect 694,247 tonnes of essential products used in the composition of food kits distributed mainly to sick people, elderly people and those living with a disability. The harvest of the lots was done in three phases from April 7 to April 25.
On his Facebook page, Minister Hugues Mbadinga Madiya claims 910.3 million CFA francs as the monetary value of this harvest.
