Launched a few months ago with the aim of rehabilitating the streets in the municipalities of Libreville, the works are continuing, in compliance with the barrier measures set out by the government.
The companies committed to the task to rehabilitate the roads of the districts of the Gabonese capital are hard at work to continue the works which they started a few weeks ago. Despite the reduction in the number of staff on certain sites, work is progressing and the managers of these Public Works structures hope to deliver it soon.
In the 6th district of Libreville, notably on the Fin Goudron-Carrefour Betsaïda section, the gear of one of the contracting companies has not dropped. Under the supervision of technicians from the Ministry of Public Works and those from the National Agency for Major Works and Infrastructure (ANGTI), these works are aimed at removing these areas from the isolation in which they are immersed.
If in some districts, we are doing earthworks, in others, like at the Cité de la Caisse, we are laying gutters and even layers aimed at consolidating the soil, before laying the bitumen layer. On the Jeanne Ebori Foundation – Hotel Radisson Blu axis, workers are in action to replace a defective metal nozzle. The old metal structure from several years ago will be replaced by a more durable reinforced concrete nozzle. As all these public works activities take place, Government insists on respecting the barrier measures in the face of the spread of the Covid-19. Masks and hydro-alcoholic solutions have been made available to workers by the tasked companies. Buses have also been assigned to transport staff under sanitary conditions that meet standards and respect social distancing.
