One of Cameroon’s biggest Insurers in on the frontlines against the coronavirus . Prudential Beneficial has announced a series of measures to tackle the global pandemic. According to the Group CEO Eddie Ford Brown, the move is proof of the company’s concern for humanity, at a time when mutual efforts are needed to face the coronavirus.
“The wellbeing of our clients, staff and agents is our number one priority. In over 170 years we have always delivered on the promises to our clients, regardless of the crisis we faced,” the Group chairman said.
This include providing existing and new customers, staff and agents with a range of Covid-19 insurers at no cost. It will be also involved in waiving pandemic exclusions written into policy language for existing customers and simplifying claim procedures and also enabling claims to be made via whatsapp.

Prudential Beneficial is also setting dedicated Covid-19 claims teams, enable customers to buy insurance without meeting face to face with an agent. Agents will also receive additional training and incentives to enable them provide advice and access to insurance at this time.
Eddie Brown has pledged the commitment of Prudential Beneficial to “continue providing innovative solutions that help you and those you love navigate navigate these uncertain times.”
The company has urged clients and the public to remain strong despite the upheavals promising that, “We will get over this.”
In July 2019, the British life insurer Prudential completed a majority stake in Beneficial Life, a life insurance group present in Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire and Togo.
Following this transaction, the new shareholder decided on December 6, 2019 to change the name of the Togolese company to Prudential Beneficial Life Insurance.
